How to Publish to Salesforce Knowledge
aprity can generate documentation in Salesforce Knowledge format, creating articles directly in your org's knowledge base.
Prerequisites
- Intelligence (or Trial) plan.
- Salesforce Knowledge must be enabled in your org.
- Knowledge license assigned to the user running the scan.
Steps
- Open the aprity app in Salesforce.
- Navigate to the Generate tab.
- In the publishing options, enable the Salesforce Knowledge destination.
- Configure other scan options (language, metadata scope) as needed.
- Click Generate to start the scan.
- When the scan completes, Knowledge articles are created in your org.
info
Knowledge articles are created as drafts. You must manually publish them through the standard Salesforce Knowledge workflow if you want them visible to end users.
Article Structure
aprity generates Knowledge articles organized by Salesforce object. Each article includes:
- Object overview and business context
- Field descriptions and relationships
- Automation rules (triggers, flows, validation rules)
- Dependency information
Managing Generated Articles
- Articles appear in the Knowledge section of Salesforce Setup.
- Use standard Knowledge categories and data categories to organize them.
- Re-running a scan with Knowledge format updates existing articles rather than creating duplicates.
warning
If Salesforce Knowledge is not enabled in your org, the Salesforce Knowledge publishing option will appear grayed out. Contact your Salesforce administrator to enable Knowledge.
