How to Use Custom DOCX Templates

Enterprise customers can upload custom DOCX templates to brand their generated documentation with corporate styles, logos, and layouts.

Prerequisites

  • Enterprise plan.
  • A DOCX template file prepared according to aprity's template guidelines.

Uploading a Template

  1. Open the aprity app in Salesforce.
  2. Navigate to the Generate tab.
  3. In the output format section, select the DOCX tile.
  4. Click the Template dropdown that appears.
  5. Click Upload Template.
  6. Select your DOCX template file and confirm the upload.
  7. The template appears in the dropdown list for future use.

Using a Template in a Scan

  1. On the Generate tab, select the DOCX format.
  2. Open the Template dropdown.
  3. Select your uploaded template.
  4. Configure other scan options and click Generate.

The generated DOCX file uses your template's styles, headers, footers, and branding.

Template Guidelines

Your custom template should include:

  • Header and footer -- with your company logo and branding
  • Heading styles -- Heading 1 through Heading 4 are used by aprity
  • Body text style -- for paragraph content
  • Table style -- for data tables in the documentation
  • Page margins and orientation -- set to your corporate standard
info

aprity injects content into the template using Word styles. Ensure your template defines the standard Word heading and body text styles.

Managing Templates

  • You can upload multiple templates and select the appropriate one per scan.
  • To delete a template, contact support@aprity.ai.
  • Templates are org-specific and not shared across connected orgs.
tip

Test your template with a small scan first to verify that styles render correctly before using it for a full org scan.
